Strawbale has been used in America and Europe since the 1800's and has stood the test of time.
It is a renewable resource and can be grown quickly using 50 times less energy to produce than concrete and, of course, decreasing need for overusing timber.
One of its best qualities in terms of its environmental advantage is the fact that it has very high thermal insulation, meaning it keeps your home cool in summer and warm in winter without the need for additional electricity. One of the beauties of building with strawbales is working with non-toxic materials to create truly warm and beautiful homes. Strawbale houses can look either rustic or modern depending on the finish. It is a far more creative and rewarding process for everyone involved, than for standard methods of construction, not least the benefits to the environment.

Building with Strawbales
Straw is a biodegradable, renewable source and can be sustainably grown in a short period of time. Straw bales are inherently low in embodied energy - 1 tonne of concrete requires over 50 times more energy than straw in its manufacture.
